Our famous ‘8-Step Abdominal Ultrasound Survey’ has been tried and tested around the world and this formula never fails to deliver GREAT results every time.
Originally designed and developed for our ‘Sonographer On Your Shoulder’ members to reduce the stress of transitioning from basic target scanning to performing full abdominal surveys, this strategic, stress-free, repeatable approach to scanning the abdomen has been now been adopted by hundreds of vets and vet nurses across the globe.
Our ‘8-Step Abdominal Ultrasound Survey’ 2-Day practical workshop still forms an essential part of our ‘Sonographer on Your Shoulder’ hybrid training and mentorship programme, consolidating the online resources into practical reality. But the good news is, this 16 hour CPD event is now RACE approved (15 credits) and is open to individuals now ready to build a more comprehensive and holistic approach to abdominal survey scanning.
Learning a technique for finding and assessing an individual structure is one thing, performing comprehensive, systematic surveys, time after time, is taking ultrasound to another level – and can be a daunting task without he right support.
We empower learners to first fully appreciate basic ultrasound system skills for maximum diagnostic impact, then master our small, bite-sized, mini-stepped scan techniques before finally bolting the steps together to form a comprehensive full abdominal survey.
By the end of the 2 days, our clients have learnt how to consolidate system skills and scan techniques to build clinical confidence using our logical, methodical and standardised approach – ESSENTIAL skills for running a thriving in-house ultrasound service. Infact, most can’t wait to get back to practice and start using this new knowledge.

Apart from the amazing training, a hard-copy handbook of all the 8-Step slides and a 8-Step Survey poster for your clinic, we also provide mid-session snacks and a good lunch, so you don’t need to worry about the little things. Instead, concentrate on soaking up the top class advice our mentors have to share with you and practising the steps, one by one.
